WITNESS

Hello my distinguished reader, how was your weekend and what are you doing on this Monday?

Today’s poem is based on a story of two individuals who were so much in love and made countless promises to each other. They had problems along the way and neglected these problems and at the end of the day they resolved to a break up, with the moon being a witness to what transpired so far. This poem will take you through the journey of how it was from the beginning to the end. I hope you will read and enjoy.

You promised forever
And I so thought it was real.
We stared at the moon
And you promised till dawn.
The rain dropped a little
And we both ran in fear.

You painted a picture,
Of how it would be.
I traced the figures,
Feeling so excited and clean.
You made promises
From now till forever.

The tree where under it we sat,
Lost a branch
And you promised a repair,
We could have called a helper,
But you stared in despair,
While I stared in fear.

You painted a picture,
Of what we would be.
You made a promise,
Under the full moon,
As bright as it was,
It was a witness to all we had.

You fixed a date ,
And I believed in fate.
You walked to me
With a paper and ink.
And with these two
You wrote something that made me weak.

You turned your back,
Making me cry and beg,
But you didn’t stare,
No matter how I care.
You left under the full moon,
Making it the witness of the beginning and the end,
Of everything we had.

I hope you enjoyed reading the poem. Don’t forget to comment, vote and share.
