LIGHT UP THE LAMP

Good afternoon, how have you been spending this past weeks? I must admit that it’s has been a long time since I have dropped anything here and that is because I have something else going on Wattpad.

I wrote this poem some few months ago and it basically about politics.
Light up the lamp is a metaphorical way of requesting our leaders to be accountable to whatever they have done. What exactly have they done with the power vested in them through our votes after promising and declaring? Here you will find some biblical allusions and many others. Light up the lamp let me see
Let me see what has become
The fate of the pot of porridge.

Let me see how good
You have made use of the talent.

Light up the lamp let me see how far
You have made use of the staff
of honour I handed to you.

Let the light shine so bright
For me to see my thumbprint
Yes!The one on the paper.

The one you begged for,
Blew your siren for,
Ate from my plate for,
Prostrated for.

How exactly have you made use of the ink?
Yes! The one on the paper
Accompanied with my scream.
Is it drop by drop or the whole of it?

light up the lamp make it so bright
Be very accountable for the way
My thumbprint has been put to use.
